Royal Palm Beach High School Earns B Rating

Royal Palm Beach High School Earns B Rating
Posted on 07/12/2019

Royal Palm Beach High School has received a B rating from the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) for the 2018-19 school year.  This marks the fifth time since school grades were first assigned in 1999 and the third time in the last six years that the school has earned a B rating.

Principal Dr. Jesús Armas, who has been the school’s leader for the last nine years and has overseen three of the school’s five B ratings, says, “Faculty, staff, and students alike at Royal Palm Beach High School are committed to our vision of excellence and this increase in school grade to a B validates the contributions and hard work of all our stakeholders.”

School grades are calculated by taking a percentage of the total points available in ten different components. Two of Royal Palm Beach High School’s highest components were its above average 93% graduation rate and the 79% acceleration rate that was fifth highest among all high schools in the district.

If you ask Dr. Armas, the work is never done.  “Sure we’re pleased with the B rating and I’m extremely proud of our school culture and the love of our school that the faculty, staff, and students have, which make Royal Palm Beach High School a great place to learn and work.  However, we’re always looking to be better and we look forward to continuing our focused drive to get that elusive A rating.  So, we’ll celebrate today and get right back to work tomorrow.”
