Jesús Armas is a 1986 graduate of the University of Miami where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in chemistry and a minor in biology. After graduating from college, he began his teaching career at his alma mater, Christian Day School. There, he coached basketball and taught several different subjects including chemistry for five years before going to Haines City High School as a science teacher and basketball coach in 1992.

After a two-year stint at Haines City, Dr. Armas relocated back to Palm Beach County to work at Suncoast High School in Riviera Beach, Florida from 1994 – 1999. There he taught chemistry and IB Environmental Systems and Societies, coached basketball, and was the school's athletic director.

In 1999, Dr. Armas transferred to Jupiter High School in Jupiter, Florida to become the school's athletic director.  In 2001, while at Jupiter High School, Dr. Armas earned his Master of Science Degree in Science Education and received his certification in School Leadership both from Nova Southeastern University. In 2003 he became an assistant principal at Jupiter High School.

In 2004, Dr. Armas began work as the assistant principal in charge of curriculum at the yet to be constructed Seminole Ridge High School.  In 2006, after two years at Seminole Ridge High School, Dr. Armas was appointed as the principal of Lake Worth Middle School in Lake Worth, Florida.

In 2010, Dr. Armas was named principal of Royal Palm Beach High School, the position he currently holds.  Now in his 8th year at Royal Palm Beach High School, Dr. Armas is the longest tenured principal in the history of the school and has helped the school become an IB World School and has brought several programs to the school, including STEM, AICE, AVID, and a Navy JROTC.

Dr. Armas, who recently earned his Doctor of Education Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, resides in Loxahatchee, Florida with his wife of 30 years, Teresa, and their son, Daniel, a Royal Palm Beach High School student.


Principal's Designee



Mrs. Crystal Amado Kucharski grew up in Royal Palm Beach and attended two of our feeder schools, H.L. Johnson Elementary and Crestwood Middle School. She began her career at Royal Palm Beach Community High School in 2006 as a teacher. She taught all levels of science from ESOL to Advanced Placement in Biology, Environmental Science and Earth Space Science. She became the ESOL Coordinator and coached Women's Soccer at RPBHS.

In 2011, Mrs. Amado Kucharski earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and in 2012 she became a Dean of Student Services. In 2013, Mrs. Amado began work as Assistant Principal of Royal Palm Beach Community High School.

She is inspired by the spirit of the students, the commitment of their families, and RPBHS’ dedicated staff that together create an amazing school community where she loves coming to work every day.


Ms. Lisa Jones
Assistant Principal



Ms. Jones begain her teaching career at U.B. Kinsey Elementary School of the Arts in West Palm Beach Florida.  In 1994 Ms. Jones moved to BAK Middle School of the Arts where she taught science.

Ms. Jones was an Assistant Princial at Okeeheelee Middle School and Jeaga Middle School before coming to Royal Palm Beach Community High School in 2005.




Mr. Cornelius Hagans is an Assistant Principal at Royal Palm Beach High School. After serving eight years in the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Hagans decided it was time for a change of scenery (and weather) leaving the dusty 115 degree heat of the Middle East for the sandy shores of Central Florida, where he began his collegiate matriculation. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Bethune-Cookman University and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College. He has served as a Teacher and Administrator at both primary and secondary education levels.

The G.I. Bill provided an opportunity for Mr. Hagans to foster his first love... A love of music; As a student of Music he performed in opera's and mini opera's from Mozart's Don Giovanni to Gershwin's Porgy and Bess. He has performed on tours from the bright lights of New York City to the majestic beaches of Miami FL. However, a vicissitude was waiting in the wings.

Through collegiate practicum experiences, he found a new love, a love for teaching and learning. Realizing that education truly stands as the epitome of equality, Mr. Hagans refocused his energy and became engulfed in education and the power there of. He developed a passion for fostering the "EUREKA" moment in students. Mr. Hagans exclaims "There is no greater sense of satisfaction than that felt while facilitating student achievement."

Mr. Hagans has been part of staffs that have moved schools to greater levels of success and feels at home with the esteemed staff of Royal Palm Beach High School. Mr. Hagans plans to pursue a Doctorate Degree at Florida Atlantic University, Further solidifying the notion that education is the epitome of equality. He has an open door policy; and says "please don't hesitate to experience a tête-à-tête."




Mr. Seepersaud is a dedicated father of three girls and a devoted husband to a wonderful woman, they have been married now for over 13 years. Mr. Seepersaud was born in England but grew up in New Orleans and considers it his hometown. After graduating from Jesuit High School in 1997, he moved to Florida. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Barry University and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University.

After graduate work in Biomedical Sciences and gaining acceptance into Dental School, Mr. Seepersaud decided to change careers and become a science teacher at Margate Middle in Broward County. He spent two years there until transitioning to Bear Lakes Middle. After 3 years he advanced to become an Instructional Specialist for Science. Two years later he became an assistant principal at Palm Beach Lakes High School after showing double digit academic growth in science at a high needs middle school.

He spent 5 incredible years there and had the privilege of working on the master board, discipline, and testing. He is now in his 2nd year here at Royal Palm Beach High School. He admires the leadership style and learns something new every day. He hopes to one day be fortunate enough to serve as a principal and continue to serve the great citizens of Palm Beach County.  

Mr. Seepersaud credits his inspiration to his wife and three daughters, curiosity for the unknown, and desire to be a part of positive social change.

Mr. Joseph Leyland


Joseph Leyland is from Oklahoma City, OK and earned three degrees from 2004-2010. After completing his A.A. from Rose State College and B.S. from the University of Central Oklahoma featuring studies in upper level mathematics, Mr. Leyland received his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership Studies from Oklahoma State University. While attending OSU, he was a graduate teaching assistant and intern in the Volunteer and Service Learning Center, Parent and Family Relations, Student Union Activities Board, and Student Conduct Education.

After graduation, Mr. Leyland moved to Miami, Florida to work as a Student Activities Coordinator at Barry University. After meeting his future wife at a local church in Palm Beach County, he desired to move to Palm Beach County and help young men and women discover and utilize their potential to become globally-minded and productive citizens.

Mr. Leyland joined the staff of Royal Palm Beach High School in 2012 as an intensive math teacher. He spent four years teaching intensive EOC prep, Algebra 1, and Informal Geometry as well as leading two Wildcat Freshmen basketball teams to undefeated seasons.

Fall 2016 begins a new chapter for him at Royal Palm Beach High School as he steps into the role of Dean of Students and serve as the Bullying Prevention Coordinator. Mr. Leyland champions the contribution of restoration and unity to help students and staff attain their Wildcat best.

Mr. Leyland enjoys watching Oklahoma State University Athletics and his hometown NBA team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. He currently serves as a LifeGroup Community Leader at Life.Church in Wellington, reads leadership books, and loves to be outdoors. Joseph Leyland lives in Lake Worth with his wife, Bethany, and their son, Benjamin.
